Van Cleef & Arpels welcomes spring with new additions to Frivole Collection
One of the French jeweller's most well-loved lines looks set to capture the hearts of women with new additions to the family this season.
Spring is upon us. Gardens and parks are alive with beautiful blooms, and nature-inspired jewellery creations are ready for the picking. Van Cleef & Arpels' Frivole collection with its graphic and delicate flower motif comes to mind immediately.
Three models in yellow gold and another three in white gold make up the new additions. In particular, the Between the Finger Ring, a whimsical jewellery design synonymous with the House, catches the eye. It is fashioned out of yellow gold and complemented with a sprinkling of diamonds, making it classy and glittery enough for the boardroom without coming across as ostentatious.
Ditto the new white gold mini bracelet. The slim chain bracelet, which makes it easy for daily wear, sports only one floral motif, whose heart-shaped petals are pave-set with diamonds – enough just to add a touch of gloss to a simple design.
What the jeweller has done is set the diamonds on an open-worked gold structure so that light can shine through each stone, thus enhancing the shine of each jewellery piece.
The polishing technique used on each flower petal is also key in making the precious metal shine more. Known as the mirror polish, the gold petals are finished such that light reflects generously off the surface. Couple that with the glitter from the diamonds, and you get a dainty jewellery piece that shines brighter than one would imagine.
The new additions to the Frivole collection, which will be available at Van Cleef & Arpels boutiques such as the newly-renovated one at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, will debut on Apr 15.
