The SummerSop cocktail is Artemis Grill & Sky Bar’s homage to our island nation’s local flavours: Tanglin Gin – Singapore’s first locally distilled gin – soursop fruit puree, house-made sweet and sour mix, bubble tea tapioca pearls, and fresh soursop combine to create a fruity, refreshing sip. Snack on some bar bites like Spanish Chorizo and Chargrilled Shishito Peppers as you watch the fireworks light up the night. Happy Hour prices for drinks will be offered throughout the evening.

Time to break out that old blazer with the big shoulder pads. Bar Rouge on level 71 of Swissotel The Stamford is bringing back Disco Lah!, an 80s-inspired party that debuted last year. DJs Kenneth Francis, Matty Wainright and Stephen Day will be spinning tunes from various disco genres like Balaeric and Nu Disco. Singaporean treats like Kacang Putih Cones, Milo Dinosaur, Ice Cream Sandwiches, and a live DIY Rojak Station will also be available. And with this year’s National Day Parade happening right across the hotel at the Padang, you can bet on getting some excellent overhead views of the performances.

LEVEL33

(Photo: LeVel33)

Hopheads should make a beeline to LeVeL33, where the microbrewery-restaurant will be tapping its very first Bicentennial Black Glutinous Rice Beer (from 11.30am to 8pm: S$9.90 for 0.3l/S$15.50 for 0.5l; from 8pm: S$12.90 for 0.3l/S$18.50 for 0.5l), a nod to traditional Asian tipples fermented and distilled from rice. Brewmaster Gabriel Garcia first boiled black glutinous rice before mixing it with barley malt and fermenting it with American Simcoe hops. Regulars of LeVeL33 would also notice that the restaurant has undergone a revamp. The space is now redesigned around a working brewery and the bar counter has been given a facelift with ‘floating’ beer taps that hang from the ceiling and over the counter. Sip a cold one and enjoy the fireworks.
