'Tis the season of giving: Bid for a hotel staycation, with proceeds going to charity
Capella Singapore has launched an online charity auction, where guests can bid for a one-night staycation during the festive season, with proceeds going to persons with special needs.

With the holiday season upon us, many of us are in the midst of planning a festive break, including booking a staycation to end off the year. What if you could indulge in a staycation, while contributing to a worthy cause? It is, after all, the season of giving.
Capella Singapore has launched an online charity auction, where guests can bid for an exclusive stay at the property over the festive season. Proceeds from the auction will go to the Association for Persons with Special Needs (APSN), a social service agency providing special education for persons with mild intellectual disability.
Two packages are up for bidding. The first is a Christmas Staycation Auction Experience, which will include a one-night stay in a Capella Suite on Christmas Eve (Dec 24), while the other is a New Year Staycation Experience, which includes a one-night stay in a Capella Suite on New Year's Eve (Dec 31).
Winners will also be treated to a decadent four-course Christmas Eve dinner at The Knolls, or a six-course Christmas Eve feast at Cassia. The packages include a complimentary bottle of Billecart Salmon Brut Reserve NV Champagne to toast to the festive season, as well as a 60-minute Auriga Signature Massage for two, and an Aesop Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Skin Care Kit.
Guests can bid online from now until Nov 30. Bidding starts from S$3,000 with 100 per cent of proceeds donated to APSN.
In addition to the staycation auction, Capella Singapore is also inviting guests to play Secret Santa with the children at APSN Student Care Centre. To ensure the children receive a special gift this season, APSN will be preparing a list of gifts, which will be shared with Capella Singapore’s long-stay residents. Employees are also encouraged to take part.
