From tandoori-grilled pomfret to boneless lamb shank: Where to dine this Deepavali
An array of North Indian delights awaits at Tiffin Room in celebration of the Festival of Lights.
The historic restaurant has launched an exclusive set menu, presented in the iconic tiffin box. Available from now till Nov 15, the Diwali Experience menu pays homage to the restaurant’s roots, celebrating the rich heritage of North India. (The term Diwali is used more commonly across northern India).
Award-winning chef Kuldeep Negi has prepared an array of sumptuous culinary creations that are set to tantalise. Relish appetisers like Dahi Puri, a street snack featuring tamarind and raisin chutney with yogurt, and Achari Mahi Tikka, a delightful tandoori-grilled pomfret fillet with pickled spices.
Savour main courses such as Dill Palak Ka Gosht, a delectable boneless lamb shank simmered in a dill and spinach curry; and Murgh Khumani, tender chicken breast cooked in a flavoursome apricot and mixed-nut gravy. Freshly-made garlic naan, cheese and bell pepper kulcha as well as Indian basmati rice perfumed with saffron complement these savoury delights.
Exclusive desserts, which are a must-have for Diwali celebrations, include Mango Ghevar, a traditional Rajasthani sweet cake with fresh mango and mango kulfi; and Mithai, an array of homemade Indian specialty sweets made from cashew nuts, dates and figs.
The Diwali Experience menu will be available for lunch and dinner, priced at S$88++ per guest. A vegetarian option is also available at S$68++. A limited selection of the regular Tiffin Room a la carte menu will be made available too.
