If you’re a golfer, chances are, you miss being able to get out of town with your buddies to tee off in Malaysia, Indonesia or Thailand, where some of Asia's best golfing ranges are located.
With border restrictions not lifting anytime soon, it’s timely that Singapore is now home to a new urban golf resort – Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore.
Nestled within the grounds of the acclaimed Laguna National Golf & Resort Club, the five-star property is the first resort in Singapore to offer direct access to two championship golf courses.
These include Laguna National’s renowned Masters and Classic championship golf courses, where prominent golfers, including Tiger Woods, Lydia Ko and Sir Nick Faldo have played on. The two 18-hole golf courses have recently been renovated.

Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore is Thai hospitality company Dusit International’s first property in Singapore.
“We are thrilled to expand our footprint in a developed destination like Singapore with the opening of Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore. Its status as a modern metropolis and gateway to Asian markets will propel Dusit’s growth momentum as we seek to deliver our unique brand of Thai hospitality in other countries,” said Khun Suphajee Suthumpun, Group Chief Executive Officer of Dusit International.
The resort, housed in a low-rise building with a curvilinear roof, offers 198 tastefully decorated rooms and suites.

Beyond golfing, there’s much to explore at the resort as well. Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore adopts a holistic wellness approach which extends into every aspect of the resort.
For staycationers, the resort offers a Sleep Well menu that allows guests to personalise their sleep experience with essentials that help promote a great night’s sleep.
At Devarana Wellness, a Dusit Thani spa signature, guests can take part in educational classes and workshops like personal stress management, nutrition, empowerment and more. These classes are offered alongside activities such as meditation, yoga, breathwork, exercises and massages.

For the health-conscious, dining options at the resort include innovative, plant-based Healthy Power Foods, ranging from fresh salads prepared with ingredients harvested from the resort’s Laguna Organic Farm, to low-carb and gluten-free options.
Food and beverage options also include Greenhouse, an all-day dining, multi-ethnic restaurant. The restaurant features five different kitchens, serving an exciting line-up of cuisines including northern and southern Thai cuisine.

The other four cuisines include Yue cuisine inspired by China's Guangdong province, with dishes such as steamed fresh fish, dim sum, wok-fried noodles and roast meats; Nikkei Cuisine, offering a selection of sashimi and sushi as well items from the Robatayaki grill; Punjabi Tandoor cuisine spotlighting kebabs, freshly baked naan and paneer cooked in authentic clay Tandoor ovens; and Mediterranean cuisine such as sourdough pizzas, salads and oven-baked fish and meats.
For those who prefer to dine outdoors, visit The Tee Deck, an al fresco bar and grill which serves popular Thai street food and a selection of healthy dishes such as whole wheat blueberry pancakes and yoghurt during the day, and charcoal-flavoured meats and seafood in the evening.
Other food and beverage options include Legends Bar & Lounge, and Dusit Gourmet. The former provides members with a great place to wind down over hearty bar bites, wines and cocktails mixed by an in-house mixologist; while the latter, which is slated to open in Q1 2021, offers a selection of fresh pastries, sandwiches and salads.
Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore is 10 minutes by car from Changi Airport. While this will be convenient for business travellers in the future, for now, it gives staycationers easy access to local shopping and dining favourite, Jewel Changi Airport.
It’s also located near a slew of heritage and dining gems in the Katong, Joo Chiat and East Coast neighbourhoods, making the resort a great base to explore the more laid-back side of Singapore.
