Singapore may be a culinary paradise with a host of Michelin-starred restaurants, but every true blue foodie will know that it is the comforting flavours of our local dishes that truly spark moments of joy.

What if you could tuck into an array of high-quality local creations, while taking in the view of the busiest intersection on Orchard Road?

Every Wednesday starting today (Oct 7), Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel’s Crossroads cafe will present a menu of local favourites that changes monthly. Made with fresh, premium ingredients, all dishes are specially crafted by passionate chefs who love local food and who've decided to put their own creative spin on things.

Granted, you can enjoy local food at any one of Singapore's hawker centres (and for cheap as well), but when it comes to special occasions, you might want to consider somewhere with a more refined ambience.

This month, specials to look forward to include Lobster Linguini with Singapore Chilli Crab Sauce (S$28++), which features succulent, and chunky lobster flesh doused generously in a sweet, piquant and spicy Chilli Crab Sauce.

Incorporating a twist to everyone’s favourite guilty pleasure, the Crispy Chicken with Salted Egg Sauce (S$18++) combines umami-packed crispy chicken with the addictive flavours of salted egg.

Crossroads’ rendition of Crispy Prawn Paste Chicken Wings (S$18) is another dish to look out for. Also known as Har Cheong Gai in Cantonese, it features chicken wings with crispy golden brown skin, redolent with the fragrance of fermented shrimp paste.

Upcoming dishes include Singapore Laksa Lemak, Mee Goreng, Char Kway Teow, Hainanese Chicken Rice, Char Hor Fun and more.

From Oct 11, Crossroads is also presenting an array of LoveSG cocktails (S$11.90 each) to complement the meal. These cocktails draw inspiration from Singapore’s multicultural makeup, crafted with local ingredients.

Concoctions include Kopi Kwah, which features organic cachaca rum, black kopi, condensed milk, caramel syrup and Chin Chow. Another must-try is the Bandung Sensation, a mix of Tanglin gin, violettes, coconut cream and strawberry syrup.

For those with a sweet tooth, bite into unique cakes at the hotel’s dessert cafe, Java+. Choose between the Ondeh Ondeh Surprise Gateau (S$80 nett), a tribute to the beloved ondeh ondeh kueh, or the Chendol Durian Delight (S$80 nett), which features airy pandan coconut sponge interweaved with layers of Mao Shan Wang durian flesh.

Keep a lookout for Marriott's LoveSG logo on all the menus at Crossroads, Lobby Lounge and Marriott Cafe, which highlights all of the hotel’s top recommendations.
