Here in Singapore, the year 2023 seems to be the year of new hotels. A bumper crop of new hotels have opened in the city this year - from the chic and fashion-inspired Pullman Singapore Orchard, to the lush, nature-inspired urban oasis of Pan Pacific Orchard.

Alongside these new openings, existing properties such as Marina Bay Sands, the Mandarin Oriental and Pan Pacific Singapore have a new look after renovations, making this the perfect time to revisit.

If you’re planning a fuss-free break for when the year slows down to a close, here are some staycation packages at these new and refurbished hotels to consider.

Guests can look forward to dining experiences at world-famous pastry shop Cedric Grolet and wellness-focused COMO Cuisine, while Michelin-starred Korean steakhouse Cote is set to open in December. Fashion fiends can also shop at multi-label boutique Club 21.

To celebrate its opening, the hotel is running a promotion that gives guests a complimentary night’s stay for every three nights booked.

MANDARIN ORIENTAL

Remember that video by Mandarin Oriental announcing its renovation closure, which garnered some hilarious responses from other hotels? After a six-month transformation, Mandarin Oriental reopened its doors in September. Its original interiors now feature signature Singaporean elements, such as Peranakan-style architecture, black and white houses and Angsana trees. The reopening also saw the return of the award-winning MO Bar, while new dining experiences include buffet restaurant Embu.

From now till Nov 11, the hotel will host a gastronomy pop-up in collaboration with Mandala Club. The culinary team at Bangkok’s Le Du, the No 1 restaurant on the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2023 list, will hold a two-week residency programme led by chef-patron Thitid Tassanakahjohn, also known as chef Ton. This package includes an exclusive Le Du dinner with wine pairing for two along with a minimum two-night stay in a Marina Bay View room or Marina Bay Suite.

The former Riverside Hotel Robertson Quay has transformed into The Robertson House by The Crest Collection, following a refurbishment and rebranding project. It aims to give guests the experience of stepping back in time, catching a glimpse of British colonial Singapore through the eyes of Dr Murray Robertson, a prominent Municipal Councillor during the country’s time as an entrepot port from 1819 to 1941.

Guests who book the all-inclusive Robertson House Experience will be treated to various perks tailored according to their preferences. These include a customised scent in their room, all day food and beverage inclusions in the hotel’s signature all-day dining restaurant Entrepot, to a market-to-glass cocktail in the speakeasy bar concocted to suit their palates. Guests can also indulge in a distinctly-curated selection of rare vintage books available in the 1823 Reading Room club lounge.
