There’s nothing quite like enjoying a tipple (or two) to wind down after a long day or to usher in the weekend. One more watering hole to add to your list of must-visits is Raffles Hotel’s historic Long Bar, which has just reopened. To celebrate, guests can enjoy an exclusive promotion on the bar’s iconic cocktail – the Singapore Sling.

From now till Mar 31, barflies who order an Original Singapore Sling (S$35++) are entitled to an additional complimentary Original Singapore Sling, or one snack of your choice from the Asian-inspired bar bites menu.

The snacks menu offers a selection of Asian small plates including authentic Singaporean delights such as Singapore Chilli Crab Cake (S$22++), made with succulent crabmeat and chilli crab sauce, Spicy Tiger Prawns (S$16++), enveloped with sweet and sour sauce accompanied with a refreshing green papaya salad, and more.

You can also indulge in the Long Bar Chocolate Peanut Bar (S$15++), a nod to the unique Long Bar experience of snacking on peanuts from a gunny sack (and discarding the shells on the floor).

While you’re at Long Bar, you might want to try other variations of the Singapore Sling, which put a twist on the iconic concoction.

These include the Sakura Sling (S$29++), an exotic blend signifying friendship and the renewal of spring made with Dassai 50 Sake, Calvados, St Germain Elderflower Liqueur Hibiscus and Cayenne Cordial, Green Chartreuse; or the Vintage Sling (S$188++), made with a private collection of vintage spirits from the 1950s, the era when the Singapore Sling became a global icon.

You can also choose from a selection of Straits Classic Cocktails. These comprise historical recipes from the Straits Settlements (Penang, Malacca and Singapore) as well as international favourites, remixed with local flavours. Examples include Gin Pahit (S$26++), the Malayan-style gin and tonic, and Sour Plum Mojito (S$26++), a refreshing take on the iconic Cuban cocktail, remixed with sour plum notes.

Long Bar is open from Thursday to Saturday, 4pm to 10pm
