Les Amis is first Singapore restaurant to win Gin Mare Art of Hospitality Award
In the lead-up to the announcement of Asia's 50 Best Restaurants on March 24, Les Amis is steaming ahead by claiming the Gin Mare Art of Hospitality Award, a recognition of its outstanding service.
Les Amis in Singapore is the 2020 winner of the Gin Mare Art of Hospitality Award. Determined by Asia's 50 Best Restaurants' voting academy, the award recognises a restaurant that demonstrates outstanding service and exceptional hospitality. Les Amis is the first Singapore restaurant to receive the award.
"A fine-dining institution in Singapore since 1994, Les Amis has earned justified plaudits for its impeccable front-of-house operation and is recognised as having one of the best wine lists in the region," said William Drew, Director of Content at Asia's 50 Best Restaurants.
Speaking on the win, Chef Sebastien Lepinoy, Director of Culinary and Operations at Les Amis, shared, "My team and I are incredibly honoured to receive the Gin Mare Art of Hospitality Award. We would like to thank the Asia's 50 Best team for bestowing us with this prestigious award, and in turn allowing us to make Singapore proud."
"In a fine dining restaurant, excellent food and personalised service carries equal weight in crafting a unique dining experience for our guests. It really is a team effort," he continued.
Les Amis is known as one of the best restaurants in Singapore and Asia, armed with a total of three Michelin stars. It is one of only two restaurants in Singapore with three Michelin stars, the other being Odette.
Beyond gastronomic excellence, Lepinoy has also instituted a residency programme to send talented staffers to visit French-based producers for on-the-job training. The experience allows the staff member to specialise in a specific area, and provides the restaurant with an in-house expert in a particular field.

To ensure service standards are up to par, the restaurant also sends its chefs and service staff on fully-funded trips to parts of France, Rome, Naples and Florence in Italy, San Sebastian in Spain and Tokyo to dine in restaurants.
Lepinoy will receive the trophy as part of the eighth annual Asia's 50 Best Restaurants awards. The event was set to be held in Japan's Saga Prefecture but in light of the ongoing coronavirus situation, a live virtual awards ceremony will take place instead.
The ceremony will be streamed on Asia's 50 Best Restaurants Facebook page and YouTube channel on March 24, from 4 pm (Singapore time).
