The most dazzling diamonds – and other jewels – seen at the Star Awards 2019

Sheila Sim was radiant in almost S$6 million worth of Chanel High Jewellery, while Jesseca Liu shone in S$2.4 million of Tiffany & Co. rocks.

What would a glitzy awards show be without the dazzle of diamonds? A lot less scintillating, for sure. Lucky for us viewers, then, that heavyweights like Zoe Tay, Fann Wong, Sheila Sim, Jesseca Liu, Carrie Wong and Paige Chua dutifully embellished themselves to add sparkle to the proceedings.

Shiniest of them all was Sim, who was decked out in almost S$6 million worth of Chanel High Jewellery baubles, including a No. 5 necklace, Les Bles bracelet and Ruban ring. Backstage before the ceremony, she jokingly told CNA Luxury, “When I win my fifth award, can I get to keep this necklace?”

Zoe Tay, who swept the Best Actress award, was resplendent in Piaget. The industry veteran paired a pair of feather marquetry earrings from Piaget’s Sunny Side of Life High Jewellery collection, as well as an Extremely Piaget ring set with 10.95 carats of marquise-cut diamonds, with a stunning vermillion gown that perfectly set off the sunset hues of the jewels.

Not to be outdone, Jesseca Liu – who won a Top 10 Most Popular Female Artiste award – rocked up in S$2.4 million worth of diamonds from Tiffany & Co., including a necklace, earrings and bracelet from the Victoria collection, plus a Tiffany Diamond Ring.

Carrie Wong, a Best Actress nominee, was outfitted in Tiffany as well. She had on a necklace, bracelet and earrings – all in platinum with diamonds – and a Victoria band ring, also in platinum with diamonds.

Fann Wong and hubby Christopher Lee were both dressed in Cartier.

Paige Chua was seen with a Bulgari Serpenti bracelet.

The men weren’t as sparkly, but they did have serious game when it came to watches.

Andie Chen paired his dapper tuxedo with a decidedly avant-garde Zenith Defy Carbon timepiece.

Desmond Tan, who scooped up a Top 10 Most Popular award, told CNA Luxury that he sported Montblanc’s 4810 ExoTourbillon Slim in 18K white gold with a blue aventurine dial, a timepiece worth S$45,000.

Pierre Png wasn’t wearing a Rolex “Paul Newman” Daytona made famous by his character Michael Teo in Crazy Rich Asians, but a Panerai Luminor Due - 45mm (PAM675).

Qi Yu Wu also rocked a Panerai, a Submersible 42mm (PAM00684).

Meanwhile Shaun Chen was spotted in a Tudor Black Bay Chrono, which lent his classic tuxedo a sporty touch.
