Olympic glory: The Omega Paris 2024 Bronze Gold Edition is a tribute to sporting success
Gold, silver and bronze details feature in the watch, a special edition honouring the Paris 2024 Olympics.
You may not be an athlete vying for a medal at this year’s Paris Olympics, but you can still pay tribute to the Games with a stylish piece of wristwear.
Omega, the official timekeeper of the Olympics, has unveiled a special timepiece for the sporting event. Named the Paris 2024 Gold Bronze Edition, the vintage-inspired dress watch pays tribute to the medals that athletes strive for during the Games – gold, silver and bronze.
All three materials are incorporated into the watch. The 39mm case is crafted in Omega’s exclusive Bronze Gold with a soft pink hue, the radiant dial is made from Ag 925 silver, and the slender hands are in 18K Sedna Gold with a special PVD Bronze Gold coating.
The vintage look of the watch is inspired by a classic Omega wristwatch from 1939, powered by the 30T manual-winding small-seconds calibre. It featured the reference “CK 859” on the technical sheets in relation to material and case shape. Continuing that tradition, the Paris 2024 tribute includes the engraving “BG 859” on the caseback, symbolising the case shape in Bronze Gold.
Other notable features include the “Clous de Paris” pattern at the centre of the watch’s dial, which has its roots in French craftsmanship. A circular brushed pattern features on the minute track and small seconds subdial track at 6 o’clock, while the dark grey Omega logo is presented in the brand’s heritage style.
Omega has been the official timekeeper of the Olympics since 1932, and in tribute to the Games, the caseback features a stamped and frosted Olympic Games Paris 2024 medallion.
The watch is worn on a brown calf-skin leather strap, featuring a sandblasted Bronze Gold buckle with a polished vintage Omega logo. The same vintage logo can also be found embossed on the watch’s crown.
Ensuring accurate precision, the timepiece is driven by the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8926. This manual-winding movement is a modern tribute to the vintage 30T2 movement used in the past.
