Two years after the first batch of MoonSwatches landed, Swatch and Omega are back at it again with another gamechanger – the Snoopy Moonswatch.

The latest collaboration is officially called Mission to the Moonphase. It’s an all-white timepiece with white dial, white Bioceramic case, white bezel insert and white Velcro straps. This is also the most complicated MoonSwatch to date – it features a moon phase as one of the chronograph functions, a Swatch first.

The release follows several months of teasing that kept watch enthusiasts eagerly anticipating the launch. In January, Swatch dropped a teaser showing Snoopy, the Peanuts character, above a MoonSwatch suitcase, indicating the imminent arrival of a Snoopy MoonSwatch.

All the action on the Mission to the Moonphase happens at the subdial at 2 o' clock. Here, Snoopy is lying on the moon with his bestie Woodstock on his lap. When the lights go out, a hidden quote from the Snoopy comic strips is revealed under UV light, which reads “I can’t sleep without a night light!” The quote is a reference to the limited-edition Omega Speedmaster Silver Snoopy released in 2015, which had a quote that said “Failure is not an option”.

As a fun touch, the caseback of the watch features a cartoon moon with a Snoopy paw print on the battery cover.

The watch world’s love for Snoopy began when Omega was selected by NASA as the official provider of timepieces for astronauts. The Speedmaster had a hand in helping the crew of Apollo 13 return home after an unsuccessful lunar mission. For more than 50 years, Snoopy was NASA’s safety ambassador and in 1970, Omega was awarded the Silver Snoopy Award for its role in space exploration. In 2003, the first Omega Snoopy Speedmaster was released to commemorate this award.

The non-limited Mission to the Moonphase will land in selected Swatch stores worldwide on Mar 26, a date that marks the two-year anniversary since the first MoonSwatch was launched in 2022.

According to the Swatch Singapore website, it will be available at the ION Orchard and Marina Bay Sands outlets. Priced at S$430, this is the most affordable Omega Snoopy yet. And just like the original MoonSwatch, expect long queues and big crowds.
