Singapore entrepreneur stories: This charity book will raise funds for youths
Proceeds from Halogen Foundation’s new in-house publication will go towards supporting the non-profit's work in sponsoring entrepreneurial programmes for underserved youths.
Halogen Foundation, an educational charity focused on building young leaders in Singapore, is launching an in-house publication. Titled Entrepreneurship Unlimited, the book aims to bring Singaporean entrepreneur stories to youths that the organisation serves.
Entrepreneurship Unlimited tells the life stories of 17 local entrepreneurs who have brought their business beyond the shores of Singapore. The stories reflect their personal journeys, and uncovers the challenges they faced and how they overcame the odds to carve a name for themselves.
“As we press ahead amidst challenging times and deal with dynamically changing environments, building strong entrepreneurial mindsets in our youth will be essential for us all to emerge stronger. Through Entrepreneurship Unlimited, we hope to catch a glimpse of these entrepreneurial minds and bring these lessons to inspire our young people,” the organisation said.
Renowned entrepreneurs featured in the book include the founders of well-loved homegrown brands Charles & Keith, 2am, Spa Esprit Group, Eu Yan Sang, ComCrop and Bynd Artisan.
The organisation is also hosting a virtual charity book launch on Sep 23 that will raise funds for Halogen's work in sponsoring entrepreneurial programmes for youths from underserved communities. The event will take place on Zoom from 5.30pm to 6.45pm.
Halogen's book launch also marks the start of a series of Fireside chats featuring industry leaders on how to build the entrepreneurial mindset, the organisation said. The Fireside chats will be launched in the fourth quarter of 2020.
