With his asking price, Cheung is looking at a potential eight-fold profit on the property. The couple have been living there with their two daughters, but recently purchased a new home and are looking to take advantage of the strong property market.
Cheung is known as a savvy property investor. Besides the duplex at The Somerset, he reportedly owns at least five other properties in the city with a total market value of at least S$138.5 million. This includes a unit in Elm’s Tree at Jardine’s Lookout, and a penthouse in Repulse Bay.
Repulse Bay is a top residential market for Hong Kong’s well-heeled. It is also a popular weekend hangout spot for locals in the summer.
